      I have plan buying a PS3 for the GTAVI game. Went to Simlim, most of the shops quoted the price $580 - $599, some shops request to have selected game to be purchase for a special price of $560 for the console.

      Yet i passed by two or three shops that quoted me $450 - $480. It is still the same, 40GB, with everything included just like the normal package. I asked why is it so cheap and they replied, due to cheap importing in huge volumes. When i stepped out of a particular shop, they quoted me $420 for a PS3 console. I walked away still.

      Is it worth it to go for the $420 PS3 console?

       

      What should i look out for?

      check whether its authentic or stuff..whether the serial number on the ps3 matches the one with the box etc. And ask whether its modified or not

      Could be second hand stuff or broken down before and repaired or warranty expired. Anyway, i agree with maith and stellazio, something wrong somewhere.

      if its sls, dont buy such things. sls is only good for comp parts from certain shops, srsly dont get chopped

      maybe like how they sell psp leh.

      sell cheap den say oh, psp actually slow one la.

      but fret not, for a small cost i can make fast for u tt kind of crap.

      den the cost roll roll roll, in the end u can buy real ps3 with tt money. hahaha

      Hmm, maybe i think they took the chip out and the blueray drive.

      Check whether the box has been tampered with. If it's not, then it's probably authentic. Did they request that you must buy other games along with the PS3? If no and the box is not tampered with, then $420 is a very good deal for a 40GB PS3.

      Check if they are selling you together with the add ons...sometimes they split the package to sell...thats why in the end it may end up costing more than the actual pricing...
